Day 1 In South Africa, Birding Towards Rust-de-Winter

All 4 of us made it to Joburg on time and without any problems this morning.  Brenden, our Rockjumper guide, was at the airport to greet us and we immediately embarked on a full day of birding north of Joberg to Rust-de-Winter.  We found over 60 species of birds, and saw baboon, banded mongoose, and Impala.  It was a warm day, but not too humid.  Photos are of a Golden-tailed Woodpecker and an immature African Harrier Hawk.  More tomorrow!
