October 15, On to West Coast National Park and Langebaan

It took us about 3 hours this morning to drive from Ceres, near The Karoo, to Langebaan, which is a bit north of Cape Town.  We saw about 10 Blue Cranes - South Africa's national bird - along the way, which was a nice treat since we have only seen 2 previously at a long distance.  We checked into our VERY nice bed and breakfast (Glenfinnan) and then spent the afternoon wandering around West Coast National Park.  There are 3 different hides/blinds one can walk out to and observe birds in the bay, and we spent several hours at one of them enjoying great views of shorebirds and Flamingos.  We also had about 20 Ostrich during our drive in the park, and many other bird species.  Tomorrow will be a full day spent in the park.
Photos are of a picturesque overlook as we were leaving Ceres, a view from the hide at West Coast National Park, a Hartlaub's Gull, a Kittlitz's Plover, a Grey-winged Francolin, and a Cape Spur Fowl.
