Day 2, Zaagkuilsdrift Road

We spent 12 hours (5:30am - 5:30pm) birding Zaagkuilsdrift Road today - a long, hot (about 90*), very productive day!  And fun!!  We had about 100 bird species, vervet monkeys, and a slender mongoose. We will spend tomorrow driving 300 miles and birding our way to Kruger NP.  Photos are of a Southern Red-billed Hornbill, birding along the road, a Gray Go-away Bird, a Crested Barbet, and a Northern Black Korhaan.  No internet service for the next 5 nights, so will catch up after our Kruger tour!

  1. Greetings from Overbrook. All is well in our quiet neighborhood. Mariann says all is well, too from her end. I am impressed with all you have seen in your short time already in Africa. Enjoy being unplugged and experiencing all that Africa has to share with you!
